1848 Consumption Baltimore Health of the City -- There is not at the present time, and we may safely say at all times, a city in the Union more healthy, in proportion to the number of its inhabitants, than Baltimore. During the past week the number of deaths was but 62, and of these 20 were under two years of age. Consumption, we observe, continues to claim a larger share of victims than any of the other ills that flesh is heir to, there being no less than eleven, or nearly one-fifth of the whole number, carried off by this disease.
